Directional Coupler

Directional couplers have the coupling line parallel to the main line and are typically connected broad wall to broad wall. They are usually offered as a 3-port device, with an internal matched load at port 4, nullifying signal from port 2 to 4.

Sylatech’s High Directivity couplers are suitable for applications involving reflectometry, signal injection, power sampling and local oscillators.

  • We offer a standard range of devices for waveguide sizes WG14 to WG23(WR137 to WR22) and we also offer double ridge products on request.
  • Coupling values from 10 dB to 50 dB can be realised with good directivity and a typical mainline VSWR of 1.1:1.

The directional couplers are designed using a multi-hole method conforming to a Tschebyscheff array which offer superior performance in terms of coupling variation over band (CVOB) where the bandwidth is the entire waveguide band.

Sylatech also provides Top and Sidewall, Loop and Cross Guide Couplers.
