Reporting to: Engineering Manager

Purpose of the Role:

As Engineering Administrator, you will work to support the creation, amendment, control and archiving of engineering documentation including; drawings, process instructions and data within the T3 ERP system (Part / Stock Editions, Bill of Materials, Process Versions).

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Use T3 ERP system to perform stage 3 Contract Review of repeat orders which ensures that Purchase Order requirements match engineering records and to check for and report on outstanding Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
  • Action those ECR’s where you have authority to do so and action others subject to approval of the engineering technical authority. This will require the ability to modify word, excel, T3 ERP and CAD documents (Solidworks)
  • Log ECR’s as presented to the engineering department ensuring information is sufficient to evaluate / classify (major or minor) and perform change
  • Transfer of paper archive engineering records to electronic format on receipt of new orders. In addition to scanning information, this will require the ability to create word, excel, T3 ERP documents
  • Vetting of previous production records to ensure full capture of authorised changes
  • To create rework process sheets subject to approval of the engineering technical authority

Personal Specification:

Qualifications/Education/Training

  • GCSE’s (Maths and English)

Experience

  • Manufacturing
  • Design
  • Basic Mechanical Engineering

Knowledge

  • An understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Design principles – design for manufacture, process limitations
  • Design principles – understanding of environmental conditions (temp, humidity, shock, vibration, galvanic action) and how these may impact on design and performance
  • Geometric tolerancing
  • Experience of design tools, HFSS and CST
  • Experience of working in a test environment
