Purpose of the role

In this role, you will support the Machine Shop by preparing, organising and delivering complete kits of materials, tooling, fixtures, drawings and production documentation for scheduled work. You will help ensure machinists have everything they need to start jobs efficiently, maintain accurate records, and play a key part in keeping production moving safely, accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue complete job kits for the Machine Shop, including materials, tooling, fixtures, gauges and supporting documentation.
  • Pick, check and organise components and consumables in line with production schedules and works orders.
  • Work closely with machinists, team leaders and planning to support efficient job starts and smooth workflow.
  • Maintain accurate stock, tooling and kit records using production systems and paperwork.

What we are looking for

You will be practical, organised and quality-focused, with experience in stores, kitting, production support, machine shop environments or precision manufacturing.

Required abilities

  • Experience in stores, kitting, production support, machine shop support or a manufacturing environment.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prepare accurate, complete kits to schedule.
  • Ability to read works orders, production documentation and basic engineering information.
  • Good understanding of stock control, traceability, tooling, materials and quality requirements.
  • Good IT skills for using production systems and recording information accurately.
  • Commitment to health, safety and housekeeping standards.

Desirable abilities

  • Experience supporting CNC machining, tooling preparation, gauges, fixtures or engineering stores.
  • Experience in aerospace, defence or precision engineering sectors, stock control, goods-in or materials handling.

Working pattern

Monday to Thursday – 7:00 to 17:30
