Purpose of the role
In this trainee role, you will help provide an efficient, high-quality spray painting and masking service for small, intricate products. You will learn how to prepare, mix and apply paints to recognised Company and customer standards, with full training provided.
Key responsibilities
- Clean, prepare, mask and paint small, intricate products in line with production requirements.
- Prepare paints using the appropriate measurement methods and materials for each job.
- Use thickness gauges and gloss gauges to check paint preparation and finish.
- Maintain a clean-as-you-go approach at all times.
- Maintain equipment and keep it safe and secure when not in use.
- Help troubleshoot equipment problems.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous chemicals and waste safely.
- Work within recognised safe systems of work and use the correct PPE and safety equipment.
- Undertake other duties as required.
What we are looking for
You will be practical, careful and willing to learn, with a strong focus on quality, safety and attention to detail. Full training will be provided.
- A willingness to learn specialist preparation, masking and spray-painting techniques.
- Strong attention to detail when working on small, intricate products.
- A responsible approach to chemicals, waste, PPE and safe systems of work.
- Good housekeeping habits and care of equipment.
- A practical approach to troubleshooting problems.
- Reliability and the ability to work as part of a team.
